JOHN M. SHANNON
has practiced law in Skaneateles since 1980 specializing in a wide variety of legal matters, including Real Estate, Zoning and Land Use Planning, Civil Litigation, General Corporate matters, and Estates and Trusts. Mr. Shannon has served as attorney for the Skaneateles Central School District since 1980. From 1969 to 1978, Mr. Shannon worked at the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, rising from a part time Assistant District Attorney to Chief Assistant District Attorney. Prior to joining Milford, Lynch & Shannon, Mr. Shannon practiced briefly with the firm of Ryan, Wittenburg & Shannon.
In addition to his professional experience Mr. Shannon has served on numerous community boards over the years and continues to serve on the board of the Skaneateles Recreational Charitable Trust and the Skaneateles Central School Endowment Foundation. He also remains active in the Skaneateles Rotary Club. Mr. Shannon is a 1966 graduate of Syracuse University College of Law and served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1967-1968. Mr. Shannon lives at 24 East Genesee Street in the Village of Skaneateles with his wife, Carol.
