J. RICHARD LYNCH joined Robert Milford (1928-197
in 1964 and entered into a partnership with the late Mr. Milford in 1972. Since then, Mr. Lynch has practiced law in Skaneateles and developed expertise in Estate Planning, Estates & Trusts, Elder Law, Real Estate and Zoning matters and counseling Small Businesses – including Formation, Sales and Purchases. In addition, with his partner, John M. Shannon, Milford Lynch & Shannon served as general counsel to Skaneateles Savings Bank for many years prior to its sale to BSB Bank & Trust. The firm has also represented Key Bank and Seneca Falls Savings Bank.
Mr. Lynch is a 1963 graduate of Syracuse University College of Law and a 1960 graduate of LeMoyne College. Mr. Lynch lives with his wife, Penny, on West Lake Street in the Village of Skaneateles where their four children were raised. Mr. Lynch has also served on numerous Village and Town boards and committees including the Village Water Board, as Village Attorney, the Town Drug Counsel, the Town Real Estate Assessment Committee, etc.
JOHN M. SHANNON has practiced law in Skaneateles since 1980 specializing in a wide variety of legal matters, including Real Estate, Zoning and Land Use Planning, Civil Litigation, General Corporate matters, and Estates and Trusts. Mr. Shannon has served as attorney for the Skaneateles Central School District since 1980. From 1969 to 1978, Mr. Shannon worked at the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, rising from a part time Assistant District Attorney to Chief Assistant District Attorney. Prior to joining Milford, Lynch & Shannon, Mr. Shannon practiced briefly with the firm of Ryan, Wittenburg & Shannon.In addition to his professional experience.
Mr. Shannon has served on numerous community boards over the years and continues to serve on the board of the Skaneateles Recreational Charitable Trust and the Skaneateles Central School Endowment Foundation. He also remains active in the Skaneateles Rotary Club. Mr. Shannon is a 1966 graduate of Syracuse University College of Law and served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1967-1968. Mr. Shannon lives at 24 East Genesee Street in the Village of Skaneateles with his wife, Carol.
THOMAS W. SEELEY is an Associate with the firm. Mr. Seeley focuses his practice in the area of Real Estate Law, Elder Law, Estate Planning, Corporate and Business Law and Civil Litigation. With regard to real estate matters, Mr. Seeley has represented clients in zoning and planning matters, including subdivision applications, special use permit applications and variance relief. Mr. Seeley previously worked at Costello, Cooney & Fearon in Syracuse, where he practiced in the areas of Labor & Employment, Business and Corporate Law and Civil Litigation. Mr. Seeley is a 2003 graduate of Syracuse University College of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of The Labor Lawyer and Executive Editor of the Syracuse Journal of Law & Technology. During law school, Mr. Seeley clerked with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York in Syracuse in the area of white collar criminal defense. Mr. Seeley is active in the community for many years as a member of the Skaneateles Sunrise Rotary Club, for which he will serve as president for the 2008-2009 calendar year. In addition, Mr. Seeley is Cubmaster and an Assistant Den Leader with Cub Scout Pack 161 and recently accepted a position as an Honorary Board Member for PACT (Parents and Community and Teens Together). Mr. Seeley lives on Heifer Road in the Town of Skaneateles with his wife, Kara, and two children, Tommy, 9 and Jackson, 5.
